The Twelve Days of Christmas Countdown

It’s that time of year again!  Quite possibly, my favorite time of year (although Halloween gives it a run for its money).  It’s the only time I’ll tolerate snow, in fact I WISH for snow, and I am generally in a cheery mood.  I take great delight in decking the halls, and judging the Christmas vomit other people call decorating.  I love all the spicy drinks that Starbucks and other coffee shops hide away until after Thanksgiving.  A good deal of time is spent hunting for presents and wrapping them—before the ultimate treat: passing them out!  Plus I love getting presents, I mean come on that’s half the fun!  In honor of this magical time, I am starting a 12 Days of Christmas countdown.  I toyed with 25 days…but mostly just so I could find an excuse to list every single one of the Harry Potter films…..

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) is one of those now timeless films from the 80s and 90s generations.  I suppose the Muppets in general are at this point.  With the 2011 Muppet movie, however, I’m hoping we’ll see a whole new crop of Muppets fans sprout up! In this film, the Muppets tell their version of Charles Dickens classic tale.  The Great Gonzo is our Dickens, Kermit the Frog is Bob Cratchit, and Michael Caine plays Scrooge, the miser everyone loves to hate.  There’s some song and dance, quite a bit of Muppet-esque humor, and as always, a moral.  It’s just not Christmas without it!

About bpaige08

I am one of those infamous 20 somethings, fresh out from under the college umbrella. I have always had a deep love for all things pop culture: movies, television, music, books, and (although I cringe to admit it to the nameless mass reading this) celebrity. Acting is my dream, although I currently need to pay off Uncle Sam before I can pursue my lifelong ambition. But that hasn't stopped my passion. I am also passionate about food, animals, and the environment. No, I am not a vegan. No, I do not want to be one. I like eggs. And cheese. They rock. I am TOTALLY open for suggestions, comments, and complaints. Feel free to harass me for my writing style or tell me how much you agree with me.
